A Downriver nurse has announced her candidacy for the State Legislature.
Jamie Thompson, a resident of Brownstown Township, is looking to serve as the representative of the newly-formed 28th House District in Michigan.
She is running as a Republican.
“(I have found) that everyone wants the best for their community — we have become so divided we can’t even agree on what we agree on anymore,” Thompson said. “I want to be that person in leadership who brings people together. I want to fight division. I want to do this for my grandchildren and all of our children. They’re what’s important.”
